Hiking the North Shore Mountains part 2: Pump Peak

Summary:

Length: 7.3km

Elevation gain: 458m

Time: 2h 52 mins of moving time, 3h 32 mins total

This is the first B.C. hike that took my breath away!  At 1407m, located in Mt Seymour Provincial Park, Pump Peak is a hike that I would definitely do again. The first 1.5km is a steady incline, but the middle section is relatively flat so you can catch your breath. The last kilometre is brutally steep so be prepared for it. That being said, the 360-degree view from the peak is incredible. To the north, you can see distant snow-capped mountains and to the south, the city. It was not too busy at the top, and we got some beautiful photos from all angles.  While this is mostly an out-and-back trail, there are options for a small loop on the way back, if you enjoy changing scenery.
